The Murder and Persecution of Jews.
The holocaust was a dreadful period of time. Adolf Hitler
took advantage of his power and tried to achieve world domination. One by one
he took over Europe, from the largest to the smallest of countries. On his way
to world domination he wanted to get rid of all the Jewish people or people who
didn’t fit Germany’s standards. He did horrid things to them starting with
vandalizing their shops all the way up to killing sprees at murderous camps
just made for Jews.
When Hitler took power as chancellor of Germany in 1934 he immediately started on his project to eliminate all the Jews in Germany. For this to happen he had to get everyone on his side by telling them to hate Jews for what they are. He told his followers to boycott Jewish shops, therefore Jews are forces out of jobs. In 1934, Jews were banned from having health insurance and the Nazi’s claim in the newspapers that a bunch of Jews killed many Christian children. This got most of the Germans attention and caused much tension. In 1938 Austria unites with Germany and starts persecuting Jews as well. They then stamped all passports with a red J so that they were unable to leave the country. This was also the year when Kristallnacht begun which meant the night of broken glass. This was a cruel and abusive night for all the Jews. 100 Jews were murdered and homes were burn down to the ground. On this night Germans vandalized Jewish shops and forced Jews to pay a fine that no other person had to pay. On this night alone 20,000 Jews were sent to concentration camps. In 1939 Germans invaded Poland and persecuted all the Jews there and forces them to wear the Yellow Star of David. A year later, Germans invaded Holland, Denmark, Belgium, and Norway. All Jews in any of these countries were also persecuted and sent to concentration camps. The Warsaw Ghetto was sealed off in Poland with 400,000 Jews inside. In 1941 the USSR sent out killing squads to kill all Jewish people in sight and any that were found.
The worst has yet to come. In 1941 the 1st death camp was established when Chelmno, a concentration camp, started gassing the Jews. Only a year later most of the concentration camps started to kill Jews in various ways. This caused pain and misery to the Jews. In 1943, the 1st death camp, Chelmno, had finished its work. The German tore down the camp and planted trees and plants over it so no one would ever know what happened there. Finally in1945 soviet troops liberated against one of the biggest concentration camps called Auschwitz. Only a couple months later, British and American troops liberated all the western concentration camps. This finished the murder and persecution against the Jews, all thanks to all the outside countries.
